palo alto networks Migrate major internal workloads to google cloud The companies announced Friday as part of a new multibillion-dollar deal.

The companies said the agreement is an expansion of their existing strategic partnership and further deepens their engineering cooperation.

Palo Alto Networks is currently using Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence model to power the co-pilot, as well as Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, according to the release.

“Every board is looking for ways to harness the power of AI without exposing their business to new threats,” Palo Alto Networks President BJ Jenkins said in a statement. “This partnership answers that question.”

Palo Alto Networks, which offers a variety of cybersecurity products, already has more than 75 joint integrations with Google Cloud and $2 billion in revenue through the Google Cloud Marketplace.

As part of the new phase of the partnership, Palo Alto Networks customers will be able to protect live AI workloads and data on Google Cloud, maintain security policies, accelerate Google Cloud adoption, and simplify and integrate security solutions, the companies said.

Palo Alto Networks stock rose 1% on Friday. Google stock was almost flat.

“This expanded partnership will ensure that our joint customers have access to the right solutions to protect their most critical AI infrastructure and develop new AI agents with security built in from the start,” Matt Renner, president of Google Cloud, said in a statement.
