May this year be as profitable as 2025. S&P500 It rose 16.39% in some sectors, but mainly on the back of enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (looking at you all). oracle) weakened significantly as the year drew to a close.

Since US markets have only been open for one day so far, and most investors and analysts may still be drinking their New Year’s champagne (maybe it’s just me saying that myself), here’s a roundup of CNBC’s year-end retrospective that paints a rough picture of what 2025 was like.
