American Airlines adopts SpaceX’s Starlink for in-flight Wi-Fi

Carriers are fighting to win over big-spending customers, upgrading in-flight internet to faster speeds that they once found slow, expensive and difficult to use. They are also considering other sources of revenue, such as personalized ads for travelers.

Meanwhile, SpaceX is preparing to go public next month in what is likely to be a record-setting IPO. The company’s connectivity division, which includes Starlink, had sales of $11.39 billion last year, accounting for 61% of total sales, SpaceX said in its initial public offering filing earlier this month.
