DETROIT – Kia Motors on Monday previewed its next-generation Telluride SUV, which the company describes as “a new benchmark for the brand’s design and ambition.”

The first-generation Telluride has been a remarkable success for the Korean auto brand since its launch in 2019, repeatedly ranking as one of the most sought-after vehicles in the United States based on inventory levels. This is an important vehicle for the US company

Kia Motors says the 2027 Telluride, which is expected to arrive in U.S. showrooms in the first quarter, will have an overall larger, boxier and more modern design compared to the current model.

The new front end features a large front grille surrounded by vertical headlamps, while the rear of the vehicle features a sleek design and silhouette reminiscent of a Range Rover.

The company released images of the Telluride X-Pro model on Monday ahead of the three-row midsize SUV’s official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. Further trim and details of the vehicle will be revealed there.

According to the company, Telluride sales have increased every year since its launch in 2019, and Kia has sold more than 444,000 units in total. Kia Motors said sales of the car were up 11% year-to-date through October.

Kia offers the current Telluride in 10 trim levels, with starting prices between $36,000 and $54,000.

A new version of the Kia Telluride’s sibling, the Hyundai Palisade, went on sale earlier this year, with prices starting between $39,000 and $55,000, depending on trim.
