2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric SUV

porsche

porsche On Wednesday, it unveiled an all-electric version of its Cayenne SUV, calling it the “most powerful” production car the German sports car maker has ever produced.

Porsche says the 2026 Cayenne EV will produce 1,139 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of 2.4 seconds, and a maximum torque of 1,106 foot-pounds. The company says it can reach a top speed of 162 miles per hour.

The car that previously held the title of “Most Powerful Road Porsche” was the 1,019 horsepower Taycan Turbo GT.

Porsche said that to achieve the best performance of the vehicle, launch mode must be enabled. In normal driving mode, the vehicle delivers up to 844 horsepower.

Prices for the top-of-the-line ‘Turbo Electric’ model start at $163,000, making it one of the most expensive Porsches on sale. Prices for the less capable standard model (402 horsepower, 615 foot-pounds of torque) start at $109,000.

Porsche says the Cayenne Electric has a 113-kilowatt-hour battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture system that can charge from 10% to 80% in 16 minutes. The new EV is also the first Porsche to have the option of inductive charging, or wireless charging, but at a much slower pace than traditional plug-in charging.

Porsche said it is accepting orders for the Cayenne Electric and deliveries are expected to begin late next summer.

The all-electric SUV’s launch comes two months after Porsche confirmed it would backtrack on its previously announced EV plans and instead continue to offer vehicles with internal combustion engines, including hybrids.

“We have set the final stage in the realignment of our product strategy,” Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said in a September release. “We are currently facing major changes in the automotive environment, which is why we are completely restructuring Porsche.”

The U.S. EV market, a key region for automakers, is facing daunting regulatory changes this year under the Trump administration, including the end of up to $7,500 in consumer credits for EV purchases.

The Cayenne is Porsche’s third EV for the U.S. market, following the 2019 Taycan and 2024 Macan.
