Apple shares rose more than 3% in after-hours trading after the company beat profit and revenue estimates. Services were a particularly big win for Apple, but iPhone sales fell short of some expectations. The stock is down 6% from its December high. Apple has been flat since the beginning of the year, but was up almost 7% in April. This would be the best view anyone has had on global energy since the war with Iran began two months ago. Chevron stock has risen 9.3% over the past three months. The stock has risen 3.5% since the war with Iran began. It has fallen 10% from its March 30th high. ExxonMobil has gained 9.1% over the past three months. The stock is down 12.5% from its March 30th high. It has increased by 1.2% since the start of the war. Brent has soared about 53% since the start of the war. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures rose 57%. The S&P Energy sector has risen 6.5% since the start of the war. Berkshire Hathaway’s Becky Quick will report live from Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday. Berkshire Hathaway’s stock price (A shares, go big or go home) is down more than 5% so far this year. The stock price has fallen 11% in one year. A shares were valued at $711,900 as of Thursday night. Investors weren’t too happy with the capital spending revealed in the latest earnings report. CNBC’s Phil LeBeau will be watching closely as the numbers are released for April auto sales. Toyota fell 15% in three months. The stock has fallen 22% from its high. Honda suffered a loss of about 20% in three months. The stock is down 30% from its September high. Ford has fallen nearly 13% in three months. The stock is down 18% from its February high. General Motors fell 8.5% in three months. The stock has fallen 18% from its February high. Tesla has fallen 11.3% in three months. The stock is down 23% from its December high. Stellantis stock has fallen 26% in three months. The stock has fallen 40% from its December high. STLA 3M Mountain Stellantis’ stock price over the past three months has been a rainy day, with the Nasdaq Composite Index rising 15.3% in April. That’s big. The S&P 500 rose 10.4% in April. The Russell 2000 rose 12.2% in April. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 7.1% in April. Communications services and technology were the S&P’s top sectors, increasing 18.4% and 17.4%, respectively. The S&P’s top performer was Intel, which rose an impressive 114%. SanDisk rose 72%. On Semi rose about 63%. AMD rose 74%. Western Digital rose 60%.
