Bitcoin’s This week’s more than 20% rally has taken the cryptocurrency to highs not seen since May, but traders at prediction market platform Kalsi believe 2026 will end around current levels.

Speculators estimate that the price of Bitcoin will be around $75,000 at the end of 2026, based on the average of contracts on the platform.

Karshi’s contract asks traders to trade “yes” or “no” on whether the cryptocurrency will trade within various ranges of $5,000 at midnight on January 1, 2027. Contracts are settled using CF Benchmark Bitcoin price data.

Bitcoin’s surge this week was driven by two important catalysts. One was the intervention of the U.S. Treasury Department to ease the decline in the bond market, thereby easing pressure on risky assets, and the other was an event in the White House where President Donald Trump and crypto industry executives and regulators asked Congress to approve the proposed Market Structure Transparency Act.

The outlook for how Bitcoin will finish the year has improved since the flagship cryptocurrency’s rally. Before Wednesday, Kalsi traders believed Bitcoin would most likely end the year near $66,000.

However, speculators’ latest predictions would imply a slight decline from the cryptocurrency’s current trading levels. Bitcoin was last trading above $77,000.

Disclosure: CNBC and Kalsi have a commercial relationship that includes customer acquisition and minority ownership.
