As the Dow Jones Industrial Average records its best day since early August, here’s what CNBC TV producers were watching and what they’re eyeing next. Jobs: The Dow Jones consensus forecast calls for 53,000 jobs to be created in August. The number will be announced live at 8:30 a.m. ET on Squawk Box with Becky Quick, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Joe Kernen. Prediction market platform Kalsi covers employment statistics. About 47% think the number will exceed 50,000, and 42% think it will exceed 60,000. 27% expect more than 70,000 and 24% expect more than 80,000. Don’t miss Jim Cramer’s Big Tech-focused Mad Money, Revenge of the Magnificent Seven, and Real Numbers at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday nights. He made his case for each point one by one. Check it all out in the first few minutes of tonight’s show. You can watch it under the video tab on CNBC.com. Amazon rose 1.5% on Thursday. It’s up 32% from February’s lows. Apple is up 2.6% for the week and 8% for the month. The stock is down about 5% from its July 29 high. Metaplatforms has gained 5.7% in four days. It has fallen 23% from its all-time high in September last year. Tesla is up about 8% in four days. The stock is down 25% from its December 2025 high. Nvidia rose 5% in four days. The stock is down 3% from its May high. Microsoft rose 4.6% over the month. The stock is down 8% from its October 2025 high. Alphabet hasn’t seen the recent performance of other companies. It is down 1% since the beginning of the week. The stock is down 16% from its May high. CNBC TV’s Kristina Partinevelos will cover chips and talk more about Nvidia’s MSFT million mountain on Friday Long live Hollywood for Microsoft last month CNBC TV’s Julia Boorstin will report on an industry approaching record summer revenues, but only because of soaring ticket prices. However, overall ticket sales are down from pre-COVID-19 levels. IMAX stock has risen 33% since the beginning of the summer. It has fallen 6.5% from its peak in late August. Cinemark stock has risen 18% since the beginning of the summer. It is down 10% from last month’s high. Marcus Corporation is up 41% since the beginning of the summer. It is down 15% from last month’s high. Zscaler CEO Jay Chaudhry joins “Squawk on the Street” Friday at 10 a.m. Zscaler beat revenue and guidance estimates as more customers bought the company’s cybersecurity protection even as concerns about hacking attempts by artificial intelligence grew. Shares rose 15% over the month, but were slightly lower after hours. ZS 1 Million Mountains Zscaler Achieved in 1 Month Disclosure: CNBC and Kalsi have a commercial relationship that includes customer acquisition and minority ownership.
