Rob Goering said, monster energywill withdraw its operations in the Americas. coca colaThe companies announced the North American division of the company on Friday.

He will take over the position on December 1st.

The move comes as Coke seeks to maintain growth as U.S. consumers cut back on spending in the face of rising gasoline and food prices. Despite this, the beverage giant posted 7% net sales growth in the second quarter, and volume, a key indicator of demand, rose 3% in North America.

Monster Energy’s parent company, Monster Beverage, is much smaller than Coke, but sales are soaring thanks in part to innovations in the energy drink space. The company reported a 20% increase in net sales for the second quarter.

Coke is also investing in developing new beverages outside of its core soda products, such as soft drinks and dirty soda.

Goering, 59, took up his previous role at Monster in February after serving as chief growth officer starting in 2024. In a press release, Koch said he was “part of the executive team that drove the company’s growth plans and modernization of its commercial capabilities.”

Prior to joining Monster, Mr. Gehring served as CEO of Swire Coca-Cola USA, a leading bottler of cola products in the Western United States.

Coca-Cola stock is up more than 25% this year, and Monster stock is up more than 12%.
