Here are some companies that are making headlines in intraday trading. MongoDB — The database services provider’s stock plunged about 18% on news that CEO CJ Desai will join Meta as chief enterprise platform officer, reporting to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. MongoDB’s Board of Directors has named Dev Ittycheria interim president and CEO. Sweetgreen — Shares of the salad chain rose more than 2% after Wells Fargo upgraded the stock from equal weight to overweight and raised its price target from $6 to $11. Although Sweetgreen was not linked to Cyclospora, Wells Fargo believes headwinds from the outbreak have subsided and “transformative efforts are beginning to take shape.” Boeing — The aerospace giant’s stock fell 5%. Boeing announced over the weekend that it had warned that some of its 737 Max planes had a software glitch that could affect certain landing procedures. US airlines told CNBC that they do not have Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft in their fleets with the latest software related to the glitch. Roblox — The gaming platform provider’s stock fell 6% after Jefferies downgraded the stock from hold in anticipation of “upcoming pressure.” Analyst James Heaney said: “The 30% rise in share price after Q2 results reflects an overly optimistic view of the 12-month booking trajectory.” The company expects that user and reservation growth in the U.S. and Canada will take longer and be more expensive to improve than the market expects. Kodiak Sciences — Shares soared nearly 170% after the biotech company announced that its experimental eye treatments Zenkuda and KSI-501 met their primary endpoint in a Phase 3 trial in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration. Cybersecurity stocks — Cybersecurity stocks soared on Monday. Late last week, the New York Times reported that OpenAI’s artificial intelligence was accessing publicly available data from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Census Bureau. The Global X Cybersecurity ETF (BUG) rose more than 1%. Palo Alto Networks stock rose 4% and CrowdStrike stock rose 3%. AI-Building Stocks — Stocks of companies associated with AI-building efforts fell on OpenAI’s latest agent escape and news that the company had paused training on its latest model. Shares of photonics companies Lumentum and Coherent fell more than 5%. Specialty glass and fiber company Corning’s stock fell 3%, and Micron Technology’s stock fell 2%. Metaplatform — The hyperscaler’s stock fell nearly 4% after rising nearly 13% last week amid a series of announcements about its personal AI agent Muse. Monday’s decline in the meta came on the heels of a broad sell-off in stocks related to AI trading. NEWMONT — The gold miner’s stock price fell more than 4% as the precious metal fell 3%. Rising global bond yields, with the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield above 5.2%, are dampening demand for non-interest-bearing assets. ENERGY STOCK — U.S. crude oil prices fell from their trading highs but remained elevated at about $93 per barrel. Shares of Exxon Mobil and Chevron both rose 1%. Airlines — Rising oil prices pushed stocks of major airlines lower as investors digested the impact on jet fuel costs. Shares of United Airlines and American Airlines each fell more than 2%, and Delta Air Lines’ stock fell nearly 2%. Nvidia — Chipmakers were generally lower after tech stocks fell earlier in the week, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) down 2%, but Nvidia stock outperformed, rising 2%. The company on Monday announced new AI safety software and a $150 billion increase in its stock repurchase program.
