Stock futures were mixed early Tuesday, with traders looking for a rebound after a session in which stocks fell again under pressure from rising U.S. Treasury yields.

“We believe investors should maintain diversification around their exposure and remain poised for further stock price appreciation,” Mark Hefele, chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management, said in a note Tuesday morning.
“We also continue to rate fixed income as attractive and believe investors should adjust both credit risk and duration to suit their objectives and investment horizon. Income-focused investors may prefer shorter maturities to reduce duration risk, while investors who can tolerate volatility may consider tactical opportunities in high-quality bonds with medium to long duration.”
Investors will get new data on Tuesday that could shake up U.S. Treasury yields. September’s U.S. Consumer Confidence Index will be released at 10 a.m. ET, along with August job openings and job turnover surveys.
