Here are some companies that are making headlines for their extended deals. Maplebear — The company that owns Instacart rose 3% after a source familiar with the matter told CNBC that a deal for DoorDash to acquire the delivery service could be finalized as early as Thursday morning. DoorDash fell about 1%. Chipotle Mexican Grill — Shares rose more than 5% after the burrito chain reported better-than-expected same-store sales. Same-store sales rose 2.1% in the third quarter, compared with the 1.5% expected by analysts polled by FactSet. ServiceNow — The enterprise software company fell 15%. Third-quarter adjusted earnings were $1 per share, below LSEG’s consensus estimate of $1.02 per share. Fourth-quarter subscription revenue guidance ranged from $4.245 billion to $4.255 billion, compared to the FactSet consensus of $4.25 billion. Fortinet — Cybersecurity company plummets 25%. Non-GAAP gross margin for the quarter was 79.6%, compared to 80.1% expected by analysts surveyed by LSEG. Separately, sales and bottom line results exceeded TheStreet’s expectations. Microsoft – The software giant rose 2% after the company reported strong revenue and bottom line growth in its first quarter results. Revenue was $92.28 billion, exceeding LSEG’s forecast of $90.69 billion. Meanwhile, adjusted earnings per share were $4.89, beating analysts’ expectations of $4.73. Megacap’s core Azure cloud business saw revenue increase 48% year over year. Alphabet – Shares of Google’s parent company fell 9% in after-hours trading on Wednesday after third-quarter results showed the company had negative free cash flow of $9.07 billion. Core search revenue was $63.35 billion, lower than analysts’ expectations of $64.96 billion. Companywide revenue also came in at $127.58 billion, below LSEG’s estimate of $128.22 billion. Align Technology — The maker of orthodontic and cosmetic dentistry products fell 1% after its fourth-quarter revenue outlook fell short of analysts’ consensus estimates, according to FactSet data. The company also named Procter & Gamble alumna Jennifer Davis as its new CEO, effective Dec. 31. Sprouts Farmers Market — The Phoenix-based grocery chain plunged 18% in the third quarter as earnings per share, sales and same-store sales all fell short of analysts’ consensus estimates, according to FactSet data. FedEx — Shares fell nearly 2% even as the delivery giant reported third-quarter adjusted earnings.
