apple and Palantir Shares fell in pre-market trading Tuesday after both companies announced earnings after the bell on Monday.
The iPhone maker reported better-than-expected revenue in its fourth quarter, but iPad sales fell short of expectations and it released a profit forecast that disappointed investors.
Palantir beat Wall Street’s third-quarter expectations, with U.S. commercial revenue exceeding government revenue for the first time.
Apple was down 4.4% in last session, and Palantir was down 6% in premarket trading.

Apple’s statement marks the company’s first financial results since John Tarnas took over as CEO from Tim Cook in September.
The company is considering a global memory shortage and a scramble for computer components. The company announced on Monday that memory costs were higher in the current quarter than in the June quarter. Ternas said that despite the price hike, Apple just completed its “best fiscal year in history.”
He told CNBC’s Mackenzie Sigalos that Apple’s growth has come despite supply constraints and currency headwinds.
“The concern is profitability,” said Violeta Todorova, senior research analyst at Leverage Shares. “Management noted that memory is the main pressure, along with the cost of deploying Siri AI. Memory shortages are also expected to limit Mac and iPad supply as demand exceeds plans.”
Apple stock rose 25% in 2026, ahead of other big tech companies, but that premium leaves “little room for disappointment,” Todorova added.
