The browser wars are heating up again, and this time AI is in the driver’s seat.

OpenAI just released Atlas, a ChatGPT-powered browser that allows users to surf the web using natural language, and also features an “agent mode” that allows users to complete tasks autonomously. It’s one of the largest recently released browsers, but it debuted with unresolved security flaws that could potentially expose passwords, emails, and sensitive data.

On TechCrunch’s Equity podcast, Max Zeff, Anthony Ha, and Sean O’Kane break down the debut of Atlas, the widespread wave of alternative browsers, and other startup and technology news of the week.

Listen to the full episode to hear:

Why a Rivian spin-off is the choice We also just signed a big deal with Amazon for thousands of pedal-assist freight vehicles (and why saying that name in conversation is a nightmare) Alternative browsers that embrace or repel anything AI, from privacy-focused options like DuckDuckGo and Brave to “mindful” browsers like Opera Air
