At WWDC 2026 on Monday, Apple announced a new AI version of Siri. This is said to be the biggest and most dramatic Assistant transformation in the company’s history.
In addition to announcing the new Siri AI system, the personal assistant now has its own standalone app. This app is designed to act as a repository of previous archived conversations between you and your Assistant. Similar to the functionality of chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude, users can scroll through all previous conversations and revisit sessions.
When a user opens a previous conversation, the app provides a summary of what was said, so the user doesn’t have to read the entire transcript. The app is also where users can start new conversations with the Assistant.
Siri currently provides users with a multifunctional interface that mirrors other AI chatbots, allowing users to enter text, upload documents and images, and access a voice mode that allows you to speak directly to them.
The Siri app is designed to give users access to the assistant across Apple devices, including iOS, MacOS, and iPadOS. In accordance with Apple’s general privacy practices, all of your Siri conversations are privately synced to iCloud.

As its functionality becomes more extensive within Apple’s software, the dedicated app is clearly designed to give users a more organized way to interact with the Assistant.
