Emma Laducanu will make her return to competitive tennis at the United Cup, playing alongside Billy Harris for Great Britain in Australia.

Raducanu ended the 2025 season in October after falling ill in China, missing the final two tournaments of the calendar year in Tokyo and Hong Kong.

The United Cup, which will be held in Perth and Sydney, will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from Friday 2nd January to Sunday 11th January.

The 18 participating countries will be divided into six groups of three and will play each other once in their pool, with the six group winners and the two second-place teams (Sydney’s best team and Perth’s best team) advancing to the quarter-finals.

Each match will consist of one men’s doubles, one women’s doubles, and one mixed doubles match.

Great Britain are in Perth-based Group E along with Japan and Greece, and Raducanu will face Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari in a singles match.

GB will play Japan on Sunday 4th January, followed by Greece the following day.

Laducanu was due to team up with Jack Draper, but the British men’s number one was sidelined as he continues to recover from a left arm injury.

Draper will also miss the Australian Open, which will be held in Melbourne from January 18 to February 1.

Raducanu said of Draper: “Of course we would love to have him in our team. He is a very integral part of British tennis.”

“But we wish him all the best. As his teammates, we can only hope that he gets well soon and can participate in future events.”

Raducanu added of Harris, who is fifth in the British men’s rankings: “He’s had a great year and really made strides over the last few years. It’s great to be able to spend time with him in a team environment. We’re having a good time.”

Raducanu confirmed in October that she would continue to be coached by Francisco Roig in 2026, with the Spaniard advancing to the US Open before losing to Elena Rybakina in the third round.
