Antoine Semenyo will undergo a medical at Manchester City on Thursday ahead of his £65m move.

Formal proceedings are expected to take place after the match between Bournemouth and Tottenham, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Wednesday night.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola confirmed on Tuesday that Semenyo would play in that match, but also admitted it could be his last game for the club.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has said Antoine Semenyo will play in Wednesday’s game against Spurs, but admitted it could be his last game for the club.

Sky Sports News predicts that will be the case, with an agreement in principle set to see him join Man City for £65 million with his release clause expiring on Friday.

Championship club Bristol City are set to pay 20% of the profit they earn from Semenyo, who moves to Bournemouth in January 2023 for around £10m.

Manchester City were the only club to approach Bournemouth about Semenyo’s release clause before Christmas, despite interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Chelsea chose not to pursue him further after conducting an investigation, and Spurs also moved on to other targets.

Sky Sports News understands that City want to keep Sabinho and Omar Marmouche even if they sign Semenho.

City are making a move for the Bournemouth winger, with reports casting doubt over their future.

However, Oscar Bobb, who is currently recovering from an injury, is attracting interest from other clubs.

Pep hints at January contract while Dias is out for 6 weeks

Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has provided an injury update and clarified his stance on transfers amid a defensive crisis.

Manchester City could see more action in January due to injury, manager Josep Guardiola said on Tuesday, after confirming centre-back Ruben Dias will be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring problem.

City are also missing another centre-back, with Josko Gvardiol due to undergo surgery after breaking his foot in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

Sky Sports News understands that there have been discussions at City over their impromptu summer plans to sign the defender in January, with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi potentially in contention.

Guardiola has said he will not repeat last January’s £176m spending spree, but has not ruled out adding reinforcements to his squad to deal with the growing injury problem.

Asked if City would be big again in January due to injuries to defenders, he said: “No, we might get something, but it’s completely different. We’re not going to bring in four or five players like we did last season.”

Regarding Dias’ injury, Guardiola said: “Hamstring. Four to six weeks.”
