Foldable phones remain a very small portion of the overall smartphone market, accounting for about 2.2% of shipments so far this year, according to IDC. Huawei is now a dominant player, controlling nearly 80% of the market, especially in China. But Apple’s potential debut is expected to energize the category as a whole.
