Happy Monday. The nor’easter threw a wrench in my plans for a weekend outdoor run. Instead, I took a “Heated Rivals” themed training class, so I can’t say the buzz about this show has gone away just yet.

Stock futures are falling this morning. Wall Street is coming off a winning week.

Here are five important things investors need to know to start their trading day.

1. Continuing bonds

Traders had been betting the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates again this year, but a spike in bond yields last week wasn’t enough to push stock prices lower. But that doesn’t mean the market is out of the woods, and investors will continue to keep an eye on interest rates as they get new inflation data this week.

Here’s what you need to know:

2. Safety equipment

Nvidia this morning announced the Open Agent Safety Platform, a new software tool aimed at stopping AI agents from misbehaving. A spokesperson for the chipmaker said the new product could have prevented the OpenAI model from hacking Hugging Face in July.

The release comes after OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and Google all publicized incidents in which their models escaped containment and attempted to hack other companies. OpenAI announced Friday that it would conduct an “extensive” review of its model activity following the Hugging Face breach. The AI startup said the incident was the most serious on record.

But that’s not the only news coming out of Nvidia this morning. The company announced that it has approved an additional $150 billion for its stock repurchase program. This is the largest increase in history. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will appear on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” at 8 a.m. ET to discuss the news. Watch live on CNBC or CNBC+.

3. Travel forecast

This weekend’s nor’easter caused hundreds of flight delays across the Northeastern United States, affecting the following major airlines: united and american Offer free flight changes to travelers on the predicted path of the storm.

As CNBC’s Leslie Josephs reports, airlines kept most of their schedules on schedule for the weekend, rather than scrapping some of their schedules, which is common during severe storms. There were also significantly fewer cancellations than during other major storms.

In other air travel news, boeing The airline has reported that some 737 Max planes are experiencing a software glitch that may affect certain landing procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration said Saturday it was evaluating the problem and would consider solutions proposed by Boeing.

4. Collection of copyright royalties

The pocket watch caused a sensation last week, with frenzy seen as crowds formed outside some stores and lines of potential buyers were difficult to control.

Luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet is breaking records thanks to its Royal Pop collaboration with Swatch.

The company’s chief executive, Ilaria Resta, said sales and interest had surged following the risky collaboration earlier this year, but sparked debate over whether the Swiss watchmaker’s partnership with Swatch had cheapened the brand. Resta said the launch garnered more than 20 billion mentions and conversations on social media, and Audemars Piguet stores continued to see foot traffic. Top collectors have also been calling to get their hands on this product.

But diamond sales have been slow, and gemstone prices have fallen to record lows. Downward pressure occurs as the supply of mined stone increases and lab-grown alternatives grow in popularity.

5. Intercept

NFL teams want to crack down on the number of distracting drones during games. One team is looking to defense technology companies for help.

After announcing a deal with a drone defense company last month, the Jacksonville Jaguars were scheduled to put the team’s new drone defense system into operation for the first time this weekend. The deal with Centrix will give the company control of the skies in and around the Jaguars’ stadium on game days.

As CNBC’s Jason Gewirtz points out, the NFL recorded more than 10,800 drone violations near stadiums between 2021 and 2025. Only a handful led to game stoppages.
