OpenAI makes artificial intelligence models available to developers. Google After years of competition between the two companies, the cloud was born.

For OpenAI, this effort reflects a growing movement to expand the distribution of technology to enterprise developers. This is critical as the creators of ChatGPT look to build their business beyond their consumer roots, and this move extends OpenAI’s model to all three top cloud infrastructure providers.

Within six months, OpenAI said: microsoft The exclusive license to the intellectual property of . The next day after that, the cloud leader Amazon Announced plans to host OpenAI models.

Now, Google has achieved that goal and will bring OpenAI’s GPT product to its cloud model garden and anti-gravity coding tools in the coming weeks.

“Google Cloud’s long-standing investments in machine learning and AI have made Google Cloud a destination for AI workloads and the developers and data scientists who build them,” OpenAI said in a blog post.

Google has been making strides in cloud computing this year. The division’s annual revenue growth accelerated from 63% in the first quarter to about 82% in the second quarter, due in part to strong demand for AI models and custom chips. Amazon and Microsoft had cloud growth rates of 37% and 42%, respectively, in the second quarter. All three companies will announce their quarterly results next week.

Most corporate spending on AI goes to OpenAI and Anthropic, although some corporate IT departments are integrating Google’s Gemini model into their systems, according to data from corporate card issuer Ramp. In September, Google announced the next generation Gemini 4 Argon model.

OpenAI was founded in 2015 as part of a response to the concentration of AI research at companies like Google. Two years later, Google employees delivered the seminal Transformer academic paper promoting AI, but it was OpenAI that helped move the technology forward with ChatGPT. OpenAI is currently seeking investors and pursuing an initial public offering at a valuation of $1.4 trillion.

Google and OpenAI partnered last year when they announced that AI Labs was using Google’s cloud to run ChatGPT and its application programming interface.
