AI INFRASTRUCTURE — Artificial intelligence cloud computing stocks fell Wednesday amid concerns about the debt AI companies have racked up and a backlash against data centers. Nebius stock fell more than 8%, Lumentum stock fell 7%, and CoreWeave stock fell more than 7%, hitting a 52-week intraday low. Some companies came under pressure from selling insider shares. Lemonade — Shares plunged 22% after the insurance company announced a significant increase in spending in the second quarter. Total spending increased 30% to $64 million, and technology development expenses increased 34% year-over-year to $30 million. SoFi Technologies — The digital financial services company’s stock fell 9% to a 52-week low. SoFi reported second-quarter revenue and bottom line beats, raised its full-year revenue outlook and reaffirmed its earnings per share outlook. It also reported a decline in technology platform revenue. Lennox International — Shares plunged 20% after the heating and air conditioning company lowered its full-year earnings outlook. Lennox now expects earnings to be in the range of $23 to $24 per share, down from the previous range of $23.50 to $25 per share. The FactSet consensus was $24.44 per share. Caterpillar — The industrial equipment maker’s stock fell more than 7% after Baird Equity Research downgraded the Dow Jones Industrial Average to neutral. “[It’s]not a question of blue vs. red states. Shares of Nvidia fell nearly 3%. – Shares of Mondelez Inc., maker of Sour Patch Kids, rose 4%, with analysts surveyed by LSEG expecting revenue of 73 cents per share and adjusted gross margin of 34%, beating Wall Street’s consensus of 32.8%. The company also raised its full-year adjusted EPS outlook. Shares of the AI infrastructure provider fell more than 2% after mixed second-quarter results, with revenue and revenue beating analysts’ expectations, while Vertiv’s underlying sales rose 17.8% and Procter & Gamble’s quarterly sales missed analysts’ expectations. P&G’s fourth-quarter profit came in at $21.2 billion, above LSEG estimates of $21.38 billion. Shares rose 10% after GE Healthcare Technologies reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.13, beating the FactSet consensus of $1.04. Shares rose 3% as the automaker reported second-quarter adjusted earnings that beat expectations and raised its 2026 profit outlook, but the company’s auto sales were slightly below expectations from analysts surveyed by Rocky Brands. Shares rose about 15% after the apparel maker reported second-quarter earnings per share (excluding items). The Ohio-based company said some of its brands achieved strong double-digit growth rates and was supported by tariff rebates — PPG Industries’ shares fell 6% as second-quarter earnings per share and adjusted EBITDA fell short of Wall Street analysts’ expectations. Shares fell 9% after the semiconductor equipment maker missed expectations of $1.16 a share. Manhattan Associates’ second-quarter profit and revenue also beat analysts’ expectations, sending the company’s stock up 25%, with LSEG forecasting $1.14 a share and the Street expecting $3.92 billion, according to FactSet data. Manufacturer Teradyne Inc.’s second-quarter adjusted earnings and sales rose 3%, and third-quarter earnings and sales estimates both beat Street expectations. NXP Semiconductors’ second-quarter non-GAAP gross margin is expected to decline 7% and third-quarter adjusted profit will be 58%. Skyworks Solutions fell 3% compared to LSEG’s estimate of $3.98 per share, with Q4 adjusted EPS of 44.9% compared to LSEG’s consensus of 45.0%.
