Detroit — general motors is expected to report third-quarter results before the bell on Tuesday.
Here’s what Wall Street is expecting, according to average estimates compiled by LSEG.
Earnings per share: Adjusted estimate $3.63 Revenue: Estimate $48.7 billion
These results result in sales being relatively flat compared to the same period last year and adjusted earnings per share increasing approximately 30%. GM’s third quarter 2025 results included sales of $48.59 billion, net income attributable to shareholders of $1.3 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $2.80.
Investors will be watching to see whether GM raises its 2026 outlook and gives an early indication of its outlook for next year, which Wall Street expects to be difficult for the U.S. auto industry.
“While we expect Q3 2026 results to improve slightly from in-line, investor attention is likely to be focused on the 2027 revision and we do not expect the results to provide meaningful upside,” JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta said in an Oct. 11 note to investors.
Wall Street analysts are divided on whether GM, which has regularly raised its full-year earnings forecast, will raise it on Tuesday amid concerns about slowing sales and rising commodity prices.
During its second-quarter earnings report, GM raised its 2026 forecasts for adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of $14 billion to $16 billion, or adjusted EPS of $12 to $14. Expected adjusted auto free cash flow is between $9.5 billion and $11.5 billion.
Aside from results and guidance, investors will be watching for updates on the company’s launch of a redesigned full-size pickup truck, warranty improvements and significant growth in GM’s software and services business.
