figma Shares fell 7% in after-hours trading after the company reported third-quarter results and guidance that beat Wall Street expectations.

Here is the company’s performance compared to the LSEG consensus:

Earnings per share: 10 cents adjusted, 5 cents expected; Revenue: $391.4 million, $375.8 million expected.

According to the announcement, Figma’s revenue for the quarter increased approximately 43% year over year. Net loss narrowed to $81.3 million, or 15 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.1 billion, or $2.72 per share, in the year-ago period.

The company’s adjusted operating margin of 12% beat the 6.1% consensus of analysts surveyed by Street Account.

Management raised its full-year forecast. Figma now expects operating margins to rise to 11% from 9% in August, with sales of $1.497 billion to $1.499 billion (previously $1.463 billion to $1.467 billion). Analysts surveyed by LSEG had expected sales of $1.471 billion in 2026.

The company expects sales growth to slow to about 33% in the fourth quarter. Analyst estimates compiled by LSEG were 28%.

Figma’s announcement comes a day after acclaimed design software startup Canva announced it would be cutting 22% of its workforce.

Year to date in 2026, stocks have fallen about 41%, while the S&P 500 index has risen 12%. Earlier this year, investors became concerned that artificial intelligence models could pose a competitive risk to Figma. AI panic has largely subsided in many software applications as incumbent companies have experienced sustained growth.

Figma hopes to benefit from the increasing adoption of AI in building websites and apps. During the quarter, the company began offering more AI credits to customers while maintaining prices.

“What this means is that we can invest in our customers in exchange for short-term returns and then potentially grow sustainably over the long term,” Praveer Melwani, Figma’s head of finance, told CNBC in an interview on Wednesday.

Figma said in a statement that the number of weekly users who work for organizations who spend $10,000 or more on Figma and used AI credits increased by nearly 50% during the quarter. The percentage of work performed by the company’s proprietary AI models has doubled, and the percentage of people canceling AI-generated work has decreased.

“If there are specific actions we can take for our customers with lower latency, lower cost, or quality comparable to third parties, we would also welcome that,” Melwani said.

Executives will discuss the results with analysts on a conference call beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
